Rupert Barnard

Rupert has significant experience in both corporate and economic development consulting drawn from a number of senior positions held with Kaiser Associates since 1994. Rupert initiated and led the formation of the Economic Development practice within Kaiser Associates in 1998. Initially focused on the South African market, Rupert managed the development of new service offerings relating to trade promotion, national branding, SME industry development, investment facilitation and industrial policy/strategy.
Previously, Rupert has served as the Managing Director of Kaiser Associates South African office, and Vice President in Kaiser Associates Corporate practice in London. Rupert holds a BA in Maths & Philosophy from Bristol University (UK).
Michelle de Bruyn

Michelle is an expert in the field of Southern African trade and industrial policy and strategy, as well as stakeholder management. She has worked extensively with government, industry, labour and other stakeholder groups across South Africa and Southern Africa. Michelle holds a M.Mgmt in Public and Development Management from the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa) and a BA Joint Geography and Psychology from Rhodes University (South Africa).
Prior to joining Kaiser, Michelle was a policy drafter and coordinator for the South African Department of Trade and Industries' Executive Management Unit. She was principal drafter for South Africa's Integrated Manufacturing Strategy, facilitator for 'Proudly South African', and Trade and Industry Chamber and Labour Market Chamber Coordinator for the National Economic Development and Labour Council (Nedlac).
