Conceptualisation and management of DTI Business Awards
Re-conceptualised the DTI's business awards programme. The concept that Kaiser developed placed an emphasis on using the awards to communicate government's understanding of the fundamental issues underpinning competitiveness in the South African context (exports, innovation, manufacturing excellence, etc.), and to assist enterprises that participated in the awards to become more successful. The project included the design of all application documentation and evaluation, as well as adjudication and review systems, with a view to making the entire system more accessible and efficient.

Proudly South African Programme Development and Implementation
Implementation planning and interim management for "Proudly South African" national branding campaign. Following Kaiser's development of a business plan, institutional establishment workplan and an overall strategy for the establishment and operation of the "Proudly South African" campaign, Kaiser incubated the organisation's first six months of operation including supporting the hiring of the CEO and marketing agencies and the initial marketing and fundraising efforts.

Jewellery Cluster Implementation
Implementation planning and management of cluster development initiatives for the South African Jewellery industry. Following the development of a cluster strategy for the industry, Kaiser led a 12-month implementation of the study's core recommendations. Key elements of the programme involved establishing a Support Services Group and an Export Council to deliver centralised services to the clusters, putting in place a programme to link manufacturers and designers, and establishing dedicated training and skills development resources.

Dubai Flower and Perishables Centre and Free Zone Implementation Management
Developed, led and managed all aspects of the implementation plan for the Dubai Flower (Perishables) Centre. Responsibilities included development and implementation of marketing plan (pricing, PR, business development), recruiting and hiring operational management team, developing administrative and organisational structures, facilitating launch of local industry association and coordinating with construction/operational planning.

DBSA Tourism Sector Review
Strategic evaluation of tourism projects in local municipalities for which the Development Bank of South Africa (DBSA) had provided financial support. The assessment focused on the relevance, efficiency and developmental impact of DBSA support to local municipalities as well as provided the basis for recommendations regarding adjustments to DBSA support for tourism in local areas.

Review of South African Technology Centre and Wider Trade Support Measures
Assessment of the past performance and future potential of the South African Technology Centre (SATC) in Melbourne as well as the available options for partnership approaches to trade support models. Involved in-depth interviews with existing and potential users (in South Africa and Australia) and other key stakeholders to determine priority constraints and needs of companies, a financial review and global benchmarking of other international trade support practices. The study developed strategic recommendations for the refocusing of the service offerings, refining the financing structure and relocation of facilities.

Evaluation of Stakeholder Management and Intergovernmental Relations Framework
Evaluated all external stakeholder relationships of South Africa's Department of Trade and Industry, including both the nature and quality of interactions with such stakeholders as industry, organised labour, community groups and various levels of government (local, provincial, development agencies, etc). Developed recommendations on institutional framework and strategies to improve efficiency of relations, build partnerships, and measure contribution to overall objectives.
